Alecia K. Eugene-Chasten is the Founder and the Chief Executive Officer for the Urban Advocates and Achievers and serves as the primary advisor on matters of student advocacy, achievement and equity in education, tutoring services, life skills services and student mentorship network.
Her goal is to build upon the strengths of parents and students to empower, assist and help chart a course that will ensure student achievement, increase the number of high school graduates, eliminate the achievement gap and provide a “pipeline” to college and/or entrepreneurship.
Ms. Eugene-Chasten has tremendous State Service leadership experience, including her outstanding work as an elected Board Trustee for Twin Rivers Unified School District. During December 2007 through July of 2012, Eugene-Chasten worked aggressively on the Policy Committee and with all levels of staff, parents, and the community to improve test scores, close the Achievement Gap and increase the number of high school graduates.
Alecia earned her Business Management Certificate from Sacramento State University and received her Network Administration & Business Certificate from the University of California, Davis. Alecia is an Emerge California graduate in 2008 and served as Union Steward with SEIU Local 1000. Her past accomplishments include Board Director with the North Highlands Recreation and Park District where she served as Board Chair, Vice Chair, and worked extensively on the Budget and Finance Committee and the Community Relations Committee.
Through Alecia’s involvement on various school Site Councils and as a community leader, her integrity, strong leadership and commitment has earned her the respect, trust and the distinction of being a “Trail-Blazer” for doing what’s right for students, parents, teachers, classified staff, and the community.
